CAPITAL PROJECTS PROGRAM
Many buildings at Fullerton
College were built in the mid-1930s and several other buildings were built in
the 1940s and 1950s. As a result, the campus maintains as
a high priority attention to facilities improvement. In
addition, the college’s growth in student population
severely strains its capacity in classrooms, offices and
parking to meet the demand.
FIVE YEAR CONSTRUCTION
PLAN
Each year, each college in
the community college system updates and files with the
state Chancellor’s Office a five-year construction plan.
The plan identifies all projects planned over a five-year
period, including those seeking state capital outlay
funding.
MEASURE X
To address the numerous
needs for capital improvement on both campuses in the
District, the North Orange County Community College
District placed a $239 million bond measure on the March
2002 ballot. The success of Measure X provides a minimum
of $125 million for new construction, infrastructure
improvements, and remodel projects.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
REPORT (EIR)
To notify the community of
the revised master plan for the campus, an environmental
impact study was conducted from May 2003 to January 2004.
The NOCCCD Board of Trustees certified the EIR in February
2004.
